I took my first yoga class in college; it was a free Hatha Yoga class offered in our student union. I can still hear the teacher’s voice and cues when I teach. I am so grateful to her for sharing her practice and introducing me to the contentment and joy that yoga can offer. I hope to pass along these same feelings and inspirations to my students.
After a 33-year career in Public Relations, Corporate Communications, and Association Management, I retired and immediately signed up for yoga teacher training. I relished the opportunity to go back to school and immerse myself in a mind-body experience that has been truly life-changing. Yoga has given me confidence, strength, gratitude, and a sense of well-being that I love to share with others.
I am a Registered Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Alliance at the 200-hour level (RYT 200). I completed my training at the Peachtree Yoga Center in January 2016 and have been teaching ever since. I am proof that you can teach an old dog new tricks.
I grew up in Western New York, one of six children. My idyllic childhood included group exercise (backyard kickball), learning to swim in fresh water, and bicycling country roads. I didn’t love the snow so much, so after college, I moved south to Northern Virginia where I worked and raised my daughter. Now, my husband and I really live in the South, and we love it!
